Education in Rush County
Rush County offers educational opportunities designed to prepare students for success in school, careers and beyond. Families have access to public, private and virtual education options, while local partnerships help connect students with career exploration, workforce training and postsecondary opportunities.
Rush County Schools serves local students through elementary, middle and high school programs and now includes the Rushville Jr/Sr Virtual School, providing a flexible online option for students in grades 7–12.
Rush County is also home to Mays Community Academy and St. Mary Catholic School, providing families with additional educational choices.
Postsecondary education and workforce training are available locally through Ivy Tech Community College’s Rushville Satellite Location. Part of the Ivy Tech Richmond service area, the Rushville location provides access to college programs and student services including advising, financial aid, testing and career development.
